NashvilleNurtures is a partnership that supports families in the Nashville area deeply impacted by COVID-19. When the pandemic hit, Oprah Winfrey reached out to leaders at Mount Zion Baptist Church, as well as her alma mater, Tennessee State University, to see what the greatest and most immediate needs were and how she could best serve the community.

A generous grant from her Charitable Foundation created NashvilleNurtures and together with Kroger Foods, the partnership worked to feed more than 10,000 families in the Nashville area facing food insecurity during the pandemic.

Several churches and community organizations also support NashvilleNurtures to provide employment resources, food bank information, and other necessary resources to Nashville residents.
